=Overview=
MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension) is a standard system for identifying the type of data contained in a file based on its extension. This is a method used by Web browsers to associate files of a certain type with applications that display files of that type. 

If you find that a browser does not recognize the particular extension for a file hosted on your site, you will be able to create or remove the MIME type using the MIME Types configuration tool. 

=To Add a MIME Type= 

#Select the Website location for your custom MIME Type using the Directories dialog. 
#Enter the MIME type for the file into the Type and Sub type field.<br>This entry should list the main type, followed by a slash, and then the subtype, as in the examples below:

#:*message/partial 
#:*application/octet-stream
#Enter the File Extension. <br>This entry should always start with a dot (.), as in .jpeg or .html.
