Overview

The PDF2Web application allows you to convert PDF files to HTML format. The PDF file must be on the server before conversion. Options are available for including images for conversion, providing Owner/User passwords, etc. Once submitted for conversion, the conversion status can be checked in the "History" section of the tool. Converted files (in .ZIP format), are available for download or extraction in the same section.

To launch the PDF2Web application:

  1. On the Start Services page, click Web Design Tools.
  2. On the Web design Tools page, click PDF2Web.

Conversion

To upload a PDF to the server:

  1. Click Browse to locate a PDF file that you want to upload.
  2. Select a directory from the drop-down.
  3. Click Upload.
    Your PDF file will be uploaded into the directory chosen in step 1.


To Convert your PDF to HTML:

  1. Slect the file you want to convert from the Choose PDF File drop down.
    Note: Files larger than 3MB will not be processed. The converted HTML file may not have the exact formatting as the original PDF file.
  2. Select the Generate Images checkbox, if required.
  3. Select Convert to a single page HTML file checkbox, if required.
    You can make use of the following conversion options:

History

The PDF to HTML conversion takes time depending on the size of the file and the options chosen. This section keeps track of all submitted conversions. You can refresh this page at any time to get the latest status of your conversion(s). Converted files are stored in .ZIP format, in the same directory as the original PDF file. Converted files can be downloaded to your PC or extracted to the same directory as the .ZIP file.


History tab is showing the following details:


  • Location of the file uploaded on the server.
  • Submission time: when PDF file has been submitted for conversion.
  • Conversion time: when PDF file has been converted to HTML.
  • Status: results of conversion. Refer to the Status Legend on the bottom of the page to confirm whether the conversion was successful or not.
  • You can download a file to your local PC using the Download button.
